Get to Know Sarah Reade Cookies & Snacks

Journey through time with a cookie born in a small English cottage. Nikki and Kathy’s all‑natural shortbread recipe traces back to Blyborough, England — carried to New England by their ancestor Sarah Reade in the early 1600s and preserved as the benchmark for Sarah Reade Cookies & Snacks today.

In 1630, ten years after the Mayflower arrived, many small boats landed in Boston Harbor, including the James. Among its passengers were John and Sarah Reade. Sarah brought with her a beloved shortbread recipe that would travel with the family for generations. In the mid‑1800s, some descendants moved west and opened a bakery in Indiana; their pineapple hazelnut cookie became a local favorite. These time‑tested recipes are the inspiration behind SR Cookies & Snacks.

True to traditional baking methods, Nikki and Kathy use only high‑quality, wholesome ingredients — including preservative‑free Grade AA butter — to recreate the rich, buttery flavor of the original shortbread. Available flavors include Tropical Key Lime, Eleanor’s Lemon Tea, Cinnamon Bun, Pineapple Hazelnut, Buttery Almond, and Spicy Brownie.

Tasting of pure butter and simple, honest ingredients, Sarah Reade Cookies honor the baking traditions of the past. Enjoy the tradition.
